    DramaRama, the original New Orleans Fringe Festival, has been postponed from Jan. 10 to June 13 at the Contemporary Arts Center.

    First N.O. theater Fringe Festival attracts 4,400

    Does New Orleans want or need a Fringe Festival?

    Judging by attendance and the enthusiasm of audiences at the more than 40 attractions and 100 performances of the first New Orleans Fringe Festival, in the French Quarter, Marigny and Bywater, the answer would seem to be "yes!"

    Are you Romeo, Juliet, Bernardo or Anita?

    The Actor's Theatre of New Orleans will hold a second round of auditions for "Romeo & Juliet -- The West Side Story" Saturday (Nov. 22) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at ATNO, The WTIX Building at 4539 N. I-10 Service Road.

    Prospect.1 New Orleans artists Takashi Horisaki, Skylar Fein and John Barnes, and the event's project manager Ylva Rouse will discuss the short- and long-term impacts of the citywide exhibit at a panel presentation, "Paradise Lost, Part II, " moderated by artist Margaret Evangeline.

    'The Frogs' at Delgado: joking while croaking

    Another day, another minor musical from Stephen Sondheim's Old Curiosity Shop.
    At least "The Frogs" manages to maintain a bright, show-bizzy tone most of the time thanks to Delgado director Timothy M. Baker, whose specialty has been introducing local audiences to musicals they might never see otherwise, in the manner of NORD Theatre's Ty Tracy before him.

    Artist Franco Alessandrini puts a sailboat on the roof

    Anyone who lived through the 2005 flood will understand Franco Alessandrini's sculpture "Displaced." The 30-foot damaged sailboat that he placed atop the two-story building at 813 Howard Ave. is a reminder of the flotilla of assorted rescue and escape vessels that were grounded in unexpected places across the Crescent City when the water went down.
