Seguenon Kone joins Jason Marsalis and Michael White on Nov. 20 at Snug Harbor.Snug Harbor hosts a night of cultural cross-pollination when the Ivory Coast multi-instrumentalist Seguenon Kone -- now based here -- teams up with local clarinetist Michael White and percussionist/vibraphonist Jason Marsalis; this "fatien, " or heritage, ensemble also features Boubacar Cissoko of Senegal and Diarra Zumane of Ivory Coast and locals Margie Perez, Matt Perrine and Rex Gregory.

The principals of Cash Money Records, the wildly successful rap label born on the streets of New Orleans, have more or less moved their base of operations to Miami. But label co-founders Bryan "Birdman" and Ronald "Slim" Williams are returning to their old neighborhood for Cash Money's annual turkey giveaway.

Jeremy DavenportMark Samuels, president and founder of the award-winning New Orleans' based record label, Basin Street Records, is pleased to announce the label has signed an exclusive recording agreement with trumpeter/vocalist/composer Jeremy Davenport. The first recording of this two record deal is scheduled to begin next month with a proposed spring 2009 release date.

Founder of the New Orleans Klezmer All-Stars, Freilich doesn't appear to fit the near-mythological mold of some of Kunian's other radio-documentary subjects, who over the years have included drummer and composer James Black, Eddie "Guitar Slim" Jones and Earl King.
