Muscle Milk® and FootballScoop.com today announced a partnership creating a new "Coaches of the Year" award for 14 different position coaches in College Football. "The FootballScoop set of awards is unique from other "Coach of the Year" awards in that there is no other outlet that focuses on Position coaches and coordinators; whereas nearly every other "Coach of the Year" award is solely for a Head Coach", said Scott Roussel, President of FootballScoop.
"We're excited to team with FootballScoop and support this award recognizing these coaches for all the hard work they put in throughout the year", said Chris Kildow, director of Sports Marketing for Muscle Milk (CytoSport, Inc). "We provide nutritional product support for over 125 College Football programs nationally so this award is a natural fit for us."
Finalists have been chosen for the 14 awards from the following areas: Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator, Special Teams Coordinator, Strength & Conditioning Coach, Quarterbacks Coach, Running Backs Coach, Wide Receivers Coach, Offensive Line Coach, Defensive Line Coach, Linebackers Coach, Secondary Coach, Division 1-AA Coordinator, Division 2 Coordinator and Division 3 Coordinator of the Year.

GAME CENTER
Date: Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008
Opponent: Lamar (1-0)
Site: CAJUNDOME (11,550)
Game Time: 7:05 p.m. CT
Television: None
Radio: SportsRadio ESPN 1420 AM (KPEL), 107.9 FM (KRKA)
Game Night Story Lines
• For the first time in 10 seasons Louisiana will meet Lamar. The three-time conference rivals haven't met since a Dec. 14, 1999 meeting in the CAJUNDOME.
• The Cajuns are coming off of a 61-59 loss to in-state rival Louisiana Tech in the season opener. Louisiana seeks to avoid its first 0-2 start since the 2005-06 season.
• Something about Tuesday? Tonight's game is the third this month for UL on a Tuesday night (both exhibitions were held on Tuesdays). In fact, following tonight's game with Lamar the Cajuns' next two home games are on Tuesday.
• With Randell Daigle (hand) and Chris Gradnigo (elbow) out vs. Louisiana Tech as well as Emmanuel Adeife and Lamar Roberson (transfers not eligible until end of Fall 2008 semester), Louisiana took the floor with only nine scholarship players.
• Tonight's game is the second of eight regular season home games before Christmas.
• Defense appears to be a strong point for Louisiana again this season. The Cajuns forced 22 Louisiana Tech turnovers and limited the Bulldogs to 16 field goal attempts in the first half.
• Robert Lee meets Lamar for the first time as UL's head coach. While an assistant coach, the Cajuns and Cardinals met seven times (UL was 4-3 vs. LU).
• Tic Price (former head coach at UNO and McNeese State) returns to the CAJUNDOME. He is currently serving as an assistant coach at Lamar.
Cajuns Battle Troy Saturday
by RaginCajuns.com
Tuesday November 18, 2008, 9:37 AM
LAFAYETTE- Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns head to Troy, Ala., Saturday to face the Trojans of Troy University. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m., in a game that features the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the Sun Belt Conference.
The winner will be in great shape to capture the conference crown. In fact, the winner will finish no worse than a tie for first place in the conference.
UL remains just one win away from bowl eligibility. With the expansion of bowl tie-ins with the Sun Belt Conference, UL has the ability to go to one of four different bowl games ranging in location from Shreveport, La. to St. Petersburg, Fla.
Everything Will Be Fine; Only one team to move on after interesting Higgins - Mandeville matchup
by Paul Angelle Sunday November 16, 2008, 3:35 PM
Mandeville couldn't be much more different than Marrerro. That statement is true to an extent... is it also true about about their 5A football team?
Edward Benard, shown here in 2006, is a senior leader on a very talented L.W. Higgins offense.College football conference races are tightening

The Tigers' biggest comeback ever stood out in a somewhat tame weekend.LSU showed some actual gumption and fire in a dramatic comeback win over Troy, the big boys in college football played some compelling football, and there were even some nice upsets.
But the story of Saturday was not that day's action (and it was never going to be unless something gigantic like Alabama losing happened), but rather what college football fans now have to look forward to.
Florida-Alabama. Texas Tech-Oklahoma. Michigan State-Penn State. The Civil War. Rivalries. Huge games. Championship dreams dashed.
We ain't seen nothing yet.
One man's college football Top 25: Week 12
by David Gladow, NOLA.com
Wednesday November 12, 2008, 9:19 AM
Penn State's loss to Iowa shakes the rankings up this week. The biggest question in coming up with a college football top 25 this week is what to do with Penn State.
The Nittany Lions' last-second loss on the road to Iowa wasn't entirely unexpected for those paying close attention, but it also cast into doubt just how good Penn State actually is.
My take is as follows.
